Tomato Basil Sauce
 
Ingredients
  • ¼ c. olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 can (28-ounces) whole peeled tomatoes (crushed by hand)
  • 1 tsp. Kosher salt
  • 2 T. butter, cubed
  • ¼ c. parmesan cheese, grated
  • 3-4 basil leaves
Instructions
  1. Heat oil on medium in deep skillet.
  2. Add onion and cook 8-10 mins until translucent.
  3. Add garlic and stir constantly for a few more mins.
  4. Add tomatoes and salt.
  5. Lower to medium low and let simmer 15-20 mins.
  6. Add butter and stir to melt.
  7. Stir in cheese.
  8. Remove heat and add basil.
