Pressed Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

Cookies

  • 1 c. salted butter soft
  • 1 c. canola oil
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp.cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • c. flour

Frosting

  • ½ c. butter soft
  • 2 c. powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 1 T. milk
  • pink gel food coloring

Instructions
 

Cookies

  • Preheat oven 350.
  • Line cookie sheets with parchment.
  • Beat butter smooth.
  • Add oil and sugars to combine.
  • Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Once smooth, add dry ingredients to form a dough.
  • Chill 30 mins.
  • Scoop 3T. mounds onto sheets and use bottom of a measuring cup to press down a bit.
  • Bake 10-12 mins.
  • Cool before frosting.

Frosting

  • Beat butter smooth.
  • Add sugar and vanilla.
  • Add milk slowly-add more if too thick.
  • Add coloring!
  • Spread on cooled cookies.
