Oven Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt
  • 8 tablespoons salted butter
  • 8-12 chicken thighs bone in/skin on

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Use a paper towel to pat chicken dry.
  • Sprinkle each side of the chicken generously with salt.
  • In a bowl, combine flour and seasonings. I did not measure seasonings-just added lots of each.
  • Place the butter on a rimmed baking sheet and put in oven until melted, about 2 minutes.
  • Thoroughly dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture.
  • Place each chicken piece skin-side down in the melted butter.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Flip and bake until golden brown and crispy and the chicken registers 165 degrees F on a meat thermometer (avoiding bone), another 15-25 minutes.
