Tomato Basil Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ c. olive oil
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 4 garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 can 28-ounces whole peeled tomatoes (crushed by hand)
  • 1 tsp. Kosher salt
  • 2 T. butter cubed
  • ¼ c. parmesan cheese grated
  • 3-4 basil leaves

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil on medium in deep skillet.
  • Add onion and cook 8-10 mins until translucent.
  • Add garlic and stir constantly for a few more mins.
  • Add tomatoes and salt.
  • Lower to medium low and let simmer 15-20 mins.
  • Add butter and stir to melt.
  • Stir in cheese.
  • Remove heat and add basil.
