Mom's Pink Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup salted butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2½ cups flour I like to use Pillsbury for these
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • pinch of kosher salt

Frosting

  • 4 Tablespoons softened butter
  • ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • drop of vanilla
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons Milk
  • 2-3 drops Red Food Coloring Optional

Instructions
 

  • Instructions
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Line cookie sheets with parchment.
  • Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add egg and vanilla.
  • Add flour, powder and salt to form dough. Dip the bottom of a glass in sugar and press down on each cookie.
  • Bake 10-12 mins depending on the size of your cookies until lightly golden.
  • Let cool.
  • Frost!

Frosting

  • Beat butter, sour cream, sugar and vanilla.
  • Add coloring.
  • Add milk slowly until desired consistency
