This is my mom’s pink sugar cookie recipe and it is not complete without PINK frosting. The pink frosting is a must and makes them officially “MOM’S!” I love the edges on these, too! That is created by using a glass to press down on balls of cookie dough. Such a cool and rugged cookie look giving them an edge and some chic style!
Mom's Pink Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup salted butter
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2½ cups flour I like to use Pillsbury for these
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- ½ tsp. baking powder
- pinch of kosher salt
Frosting
- 4 Tablespoons softened butter
- ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons sour cream
- drop of vanilla
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 3-4 tablespoons Milk
- 2-3 drops Red Food Coloring Optional
Instructions
- Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line cookie sheets with parchment.
- Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla.
- Add flour, powder and salt to form dough. Dip the bottom of a glass in sugar and press down on each cookie.
- Bake 10-12 mins depending on the size of your cookies until lightly golden.
- Let cool.
- Frost!
Frosting
- Beat butter, sour cream, sugar and vanilla.
- Add coloring.
- Add milk slowly until desired consistency

Crisp edges,soft center but just make longer/shorter to get them how you like them!
