BEST SUGAR COOKIES FOR HOLIDAY DECORATING!

Ingredients
  

Cookies

  • 3 c flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Royal Icing

  • 1 pound confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tablespoons meringue powder
  • Scant 1/2 cup water

Instructions
 

Cookies

  • Beat butter and sugar.
  • Add egg, milk, vanilla and mix.
  • Add flour.
  • Pat into a disk and roll out with a rolling pin.
  • I like to use a combo of flour/powdered sugar for rolling out the dough!
  • Use a cookie cutter for shapes and lay on parchment lined cookie sheet
  • Bake 12-15 mins depending on size. Cool and frost!

Royal Icing

  • Beat ingredients in a mixer bowl on low speed until smooth, about 7 minutes. If icing is too thick, add more water; if too thin, beat 2 to 3 minutes more. Add coloring.
