LOOKS LIKE PLAY-DOH, RIGHT? NOPE! IT’S COOKIE DOUGH!!! DIVIDE YOUR FAVORITE COOKIE DOUGH RECIPE INTO SEVERAL PORTIONS AND COLOR EACH ONE DIFFERENTLY!!! VOILA! I LOVE THIS RECIPE:
3 c flour
1/2 Tablespoon baking powder
1 cup sugar
2 sticks butter
1 egg
2 Tablespoons milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
ELECTRIC MIX BUTTER & SUGAR. ADD EGG, MILK, VANILLA. ADD FLOUR & BAKING POWDER. PAT INTO DISK. CHILL 1 HOUR. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350. DIVIDE DOUGH INTO DIFFERENT BOWLS AND COLOR EACH ONE WITH A FAVORITE COLOR!!! ROLL DOUGH ON FLOURED BOARD TO DESIRED THICKNESS. CUT SHAPES AND BAKE OR INSERT OVEN SAFE COOKIE POP STICKS. BAKE 12-15 MINUTES DEPENDING ON SIZE OF COOKIE. IF SMALLER, CHECK THEM EARLIER. LET COOL ON SHEETS.
HOW FUN IS THIS? ROLL ALL OF THE COLOR TOGETHER!!!
STRETCH IT OUT, ROLL IT UP, AND…VOILA!

I think using an egg-based dough for this is a very, very bad idea, especially if the kids are thinking it’s like real playdough and playing with a room-temperature dough for a while. Why not substitute flaxseed (1 TB in 3 TB of water until it gels (5 min) = one egg) or pureed squash or sweet potato for the egg? Then you aren’t taking the risk of giving your kids salmonella poisoning.
