WOO HOO-THIS MONTH I JOINED THE CRAZY COOKING CHALLENGE IN QUEST OF THE BEST SPAGHETTI RECIPE! I FOUND THE RECIPE BELOW AT SMITTEN KITCHEN AND CHANGED IT JUST A BIT. THIS SAUCE SMELLED WONDERFUL WHILE COOKING!!! IT HAS VERY FEW INGREDIENTS….CANNED TOMATOES, BUTTER AND ONION….HOW BAD COULD THAT POSSIBLY BE!!!!!!! I SERVED IT OVER HOMEMADE GLUTEN FREE SPAGHETTI!
RECIPE ADAPTED FROM SMITTEN KITCHEN…WRITTEN AS I MADE IT (DOUBLING MOST OF IT)
2 28-OUNCE CANS WHOLE TOMATOES
1 STICK BUTTER
1 LARGE ONION PEELED AND HALVED
PLACE ALL IN A LARGE POT AND BRING UP TO A SIMMER. COOK COVERED 45-60 MINS BEING SURE TO BREAK UP THE LARGE TOMATOES. I ADDED SALT, TOO!!!! DISCARD ONION WHEN DONE COOKING.
