Dump cakes in the slow cooker seem to be all the rage! 2 ingredients sounded too easy to pass up. If you love cherries, you have to try this one out. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you will be in dessert paradise. Don’t forget some whipped cream, too! Cherry dump cake-a genius invention!
Cherry Dump Cake
2 (21-ounce) cans cherry pie filling
1 (15-ounce) yellow cake mix, box
1/2 cup butter, melted
Directions:
Spray slow cooker with nonstick spray.
Pour pie filling into the bottom of the slow cooker. In a bow, mix the cake mix and melted butter until crumbles form. Sprinkle over the cherries. Cover and cook on high 2-3 hours. Then, uncover and cook 30 minutes more to reduce condensation. (Cake should be cooked when it is done and not mushy!) Serve with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream, if desired!

Could you make it in the slow cooker like you do in the oven??? 1 can cherry pie filling & I can of crushed pineapple …..put in bottom of cooker…..sprinkle cake mix on top….do NOT stir…..put pats of softened butter on top (totally 1 stick)….. Cover & cook per your directions….. FO NOT DRAIN PINEAPPLE……
