WHEN I DON’T WANT TO WAIT 24 HOURS FOR A NY TIMES COOKIE (MY MOST FAVE!) THEN THESE ARE MY GO TO COOKIES! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS KILLER CHOCOLATE CHIPS!
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 sticks soft butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup regular sugar
1 T. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 cup NESTLE semisweet chips plus 1 cup bittersweet Ghiradhelli chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment.
Beat butter and both sugars until well blended. Add in vanilla, egg and yolk until light and creamy. Add in flour, salt and baking soda just until incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips by hand. Chill if you have time but not necessary!!!
Drop by 1/4cup amounts onto parchment. Mine baked 14-16 minutes …until edges are browned and centers no longer look wet. Press a few more chips into the hot cookies and let cool completely on sheets.

danielle says

Kristin says
Alright thank you so much
Kristin says
One more thing. Um you know how it says 1 T vanilla extract? What does the T mean? Is it like tablespoon or something?
danielle says
LOL exactly!! T=Tablespoon
Kristin says
They are amazing.

I’d like to add something to the comments section. In a recipe, if you see a T – that means Tablespoon. If you see tsp – that means a teaspoon.
Fiona says
Hi i usually use grams or cups when measuring butter so how much is in stick of butter.
danielle says
1 stick butter =1/2 cup
Danielle F says
1 stick = 113 g for the metric world 😉

One more thing.
How do you make thin like yours. No matter I followed the recipe (any) turns out cake like puffy cookies ;-(
Dish-appointed says
I’m thinking she doesn’t use baking soda.
Post the recipe that actually matches the picture! I definitely just wasted all those ingredients on puffy, cake-like cookies. The exact opposite of the picture. Yuck.
Hugs & Cookies xoxo says
The picture is absolutely from the recipe.

These are great!!!! I only had 3/4 cup butter and I didn’t feel like going to the store so I subbed in 4 oz of cream cheese for the rest of the butter… They came out nice and thick. Those ghillaredi chips really set it off!!! Thanks again for another great recipe 🙂
Hugs & Cookies xoxo says
love those chips!!!
Sally says
Can I use shortening in place of butter? If so, how much? Thanks!
Hugs & Cookies xoxo says
I wouldn’t recommend that. Will change the cookie.
Stephanie says
I was hoping for a thinner chocolate chip cookie not a puffy thick cookie , disappointed;/
Hugs & Cookies xoxo says
These are definitely not thin! Check out this recipe for thin cookies.
