This is a twist on the traditional ice box cake that calls for Nabisco chocolate wafers. Instead, we are using Oreo thins here. Regular oreos are too thick and won’t soften up properly so be sure you buy the thins. This version is a bit sweeter than the original due to the yummy oreo cream….that is why I have chosen to use unsweetened cream. Thin slices are all you’ll need for HUGE smiles. The kids went crazy for this! I first saw this recipe over at Southern Bite-be sure to visit for more wonderful recipes. Now get ready to make some oreo ice box cake!
- 1½ boxes Oreo Thins
- 2 cups heavy cream
- Beat the cream until soft whipped cream, not stiff.
- Lay cookies on small, round cake plate.
- Spread on cream and repeat placing cookies in a circular pattern
- Chill overnight and serve!
