Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Sea Salt Cookies
Ingredients
- 185 grams of chilled brown butter (Melt 2 sticks unsalted butter in a pan until browned, chill in bowl until solid and measure out the amount)
- 215 grams light brown sugar
- 1 egg plus 1 yolk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 225 grams all purpose flour
- ¾ tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. kosher salt
- 150 grams milk chocolate chips (Use up to 200grams if you love them extra chocolatey)
- 150 grams dark chocolate chips (Use up to 200grams if you love them extra chocolatey)
- Maldon sea salt flakes for garnish.
Instructions
- Beat the brown butter and sugar just to incorporate.
- Add egg, yolk, vanilla and combine.
- Add dry ingredients.
- Add chips.
- Chill dough 30 mins.
- Scoop out 50 gram balls and bake at 37510-11 mins.
- Can also freeze the 50 gram and balls and bake from frozen. Just watch in the oven adding an extra 2-3 mins.
- Sprinkle top with a drop of coarse sea salt out of the oven.
