This is incredible! So easy and literally tastes fried. I made it with 4 thighs and 3 bone-in breasts. The thighs were way better so that is what I recommend using.
Oven Fried Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- salt
- 8 tablespoons salted butter
- 8-12 chicken thighs bone in/skin on
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Use a paper towel to pat chicken dry.
- Sprinkle each side of the chicken generously with salt.
- In a bowl, combine flour and seasonings. I did not measure seasonings-just added lots of each.
- Place the butter on a rimmed baking sheet and put in oven until melted, about 2 minutes.
- Thoroughly dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture.
- Place each chicken piece skin-side down in the melted butter.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Flip and bake until golden brown and crispy and the chicken registers 165 degrees F on a meat thermometer (avoiding bone), another 15-25 minutes.
